JOIN OUR VILLAGE
It takes a village. That’s why we’re calling on you to become a recurring donor of the Vote Mama Foundation. Your partnership propels our mission to overcome the unique barriers mothers face while running for office and legislators face while passing family-friendly legislation.
By the time American women are 44, 86% of us are mothers --yet only 5% of congressional representatives are mothers of school-aged children. We’re coaching moms on how to run for office and win.
“Who will watch your children while you’re campaigning?” Research shows childcare is among the top factors a mother considers when deciding to run for office. Our Founder & CEO Liuba Grechen Shirley removed a major financial obstacle when she received federal approval to use campaign funds for childcare. We’re now working to expand access to campaign funds for childcare to all 50 states by 2023.
Moms in Congress introduce five more bills over the course of their term than other women do, and they often focus legislation on the issues that matter most to working families, like childcare. We’re building a deeper bench of candidates who will introduce this legislation, and providing in-depth research and analysis to inform policy for safe, affordable childcare for all Americans.
